Get out and see it GUIDE! - Rancho San Antonio Park, Los Altos, CA

Rancho is By far our #1 visited park. We have walked many of these trails, and love watching all the changes throughout the year. If your lucky enough to go during the season ( i think spring) make sure to taste the miners lettuce!

The 3,800-acre Open Space Preserve, combined with the adjoining 165-acre County Park, offers visitors a unique experience with a sampling of diverse environments (pdf), interesting cultural history (pdf), and a variety of activities. Rancho San Antonio is open to the public free of charge, 365 days a year from dawn until one-half hour after sunset.

+ the late hours, usually will see plenty of wildlife, like dear, rabbits, birds
- the dry trails get very hot in the summer and dusty

we like all the trails, they each offer something different. For a quick workout park in the left parking lots where the equestrian trail starts, hike up the mountian and run back down. After a while you'll even start running up the mountian!
