This week 4-6-09

This week J has been saying up, & putting his arms up.
Signing more and says it from time to time
Started saying banana
Learned how to climb on his stool in the bathroom to wash his hands

Says Mama & points at me when I say who is mama? Also does this to dada when I ask him who is dada

Blows kisses, has been giving kisses for a while now

Been really getting the hang of brushing his teeth, even letting me get in there, he brushes now 2-3 times a day, and occasionally just picks it up for a quick play/brush.
Brushed his hair twice

Helps getting dressed by sticking out his feet for pants and putting his arms in the shirt.
Tried to put his own shoes on, and off

Getting much more steady on his feet, even did a little walking outside the house. He is very content to just be when we are outside of the house, it takes him time to check out a situation before he actually gets going.

We went to a mommy Montessori class on wed, it was great fun, his friends are anxious to have him start walking and playing with them, sometimes maybe too anxious, they even get upset and try to get him to get up, he looks at them and doesn't really react, but he did once and one his friends was so shocked, it was pretty funny.

A few weeks ago he started handing me things so I can help him.

He can now reach onto the counter top in the kitchen and has been helping me wash fruits and veggies. He wants to do more, and he will soon enough.

He has always preferred playing with our things much more than toys, so I've really limited the # of toys in his play area and room. Most of what I show him is using our things anyway.

Hasn't been falling asleep in the car anymore, but nap and bed times are getting much easier, he doesn't make too much of a fuss if I leave him in the room alone to fall asleep by himself, he plays and whines a little, but within a few minutes he is asleep, yet if I'm with him in the room he wants to play, so it can take up to 2 hours before he finally goes to sleep.

Cries whenever I put music on in the car, all except relaxation music, he dislikes anything with singing, except me singing Itsy Bitsy Spider.
