Thanks to Leah at http://slingyourbaby.blogspot.com/ and her super ez way of making slings I have made a pouch sling.
Ok here is some things i've found out.
I bought a bunch of different fabrics & one was part lycra, (I believe 10% - but it seems more) after making the pouch sling I realized that I need to make it much smaller, so if using a strechable material - measure the length while the fabric is streched out, this way you'll have a good fit. Sounds like common sense but I didn't really think about it till I put my sling on and Joshua was waaaaaaayyyy down, lol.
I see lots of pocket or pouch slings being made with flannel lining, and that just doesn't work for the summer-time, or anytime in south florida. I found some seersucker at walmart (which by the way has great prices on fabrics)
Options
to save some sewing use one piece of fabric folded in half lenght wise instead of two seperate pieces.
-OR-
Just use the one piece that is cut in half lengthwise, this works best for cottons & fabrics that have a soft inside, or reversable.
I'll post some tips next.
