Supporting the individuals and the eco-factor

Part of our goal in this business it to support individuals, be it artists, vegan chefs, jewelery makers, musicians, etc... In some cases these people may not be completly eco-friendly, but the fact that we are supporting people instead of companies is just as important as the eco-factor. Besides I see it as an opportunity to educate myself and others.

My mom is a painter and I have her website linked to mine, I also have agreed to sell her paintings, for the exact reasons I stated above. Hopefully one day we can find her eco-friendly paints to work with, and encourage her to use used wood for the inside of the canvas.

This gives me a thought, i need to make up a rating scale or some way to let people know why I choose what i sell.

All part of the journey.

Suporting small buisness and individuals is the way to go. Even if you don't buy from "local" sources and buy from another state or whatever (I still consider it local), I feel its much better than buying from a Corporation.

When people buy things from huge corporations, the money goes to all the major shareholders (...the rich get richer type of thing...) and the little guys get ripped.

Corporations take money away from the community also. I wont get into it too much - just watch the movie The Corporation.
